Concerning Speidi…

So, I’ve never been a huge fan of ‘Speidi.’ To be perfectly honest I think they are obnoxious media whores, but when I saw this article on Heidi Montag-Pratt or whatever she is now, my heart broke a little bit.

Really People Magazine? Really?! As if girls (and guys!) today don’t have enough pressure to be ‘perfect’…now you have to have an entire article about Heidi Montag advocating plastic surgery.

I will not lie, I complain about my body a lot. About how I think my thighs are too big, or my stomach sticks out, my elbow stick out funny, my feet are too big, my chest is too small. In the end though, I always find a million other things about my body I love. My green eyes, my hair, my hands, the way I look in a good pair of jeans. (The way my favorite bra makes my chest look in a v-neck. VA VOOM!)

Heidi Montag was a perfectly pretty girl. She was gorgeous. Her stupid dumb flesh-colored-beard having husband was always showing her off to any dumb photographer who would sit still for five seconds. That picture of the two of them in that hospital room is just sad. Why any significant other would just sit around while their love goes under the knife like that is beyond me. She clearly has major body image issues. Spencer should be the one telling her she’s beautiful and doesn’t need a knife to make her gorgeous because she already is. Call me a romantic…or stupid. That’s just how I see it in my head.

She doesn’t even look like herself any more. She’s generic. Generic and boring. If no one took her seriously before, they certainly won’t now.

Anyway, since it’s been fucking forever since I’ve written in this blasted thing, I’ll keep going. It’s my blog dammit.

Since I’m on a warpath about body image, I’ll just go on and do a mini-gush about someone I’ve been meaning to blog about for MONTHS.

Adam Lambert.

Yeah, you read correctly. Adam. Fucking. Lambert.

I’m a huge fan. I’ll say that right off the bat. I think Adam Lambert is a beautiful person. Inside and out. He’s so damn confident and I can’t help but look up to him.

Adam is a self-professed former fat kid. There are pictures on the internet, I’m sure you’ve seen them. He’s morphed into this fucking beautiful confident rock star of a person. He’s got a strut like I’ve never fucking seen.

Anyway, the reason I brought him up because I look up to him lots. He makes me want to just embrace everything I hate, put on some high heels and glitter, and just party on through life. He makes me want to love myself.

I don’t care if you don’t like him or think he’s trying to hard or whateverwhateverwhatever. The man is amazing. I’m sure there will be a very long and rambly entry here about how much I love him very very soon.

So anyway, to sum up: Heidi is sad, Spencer is kind of a jerk, and Adam Lambert is fucking awesome.

5 Things I Love RIGHT NOW.

So, here I am sitting on my couch watching Wanda Syke’s new standup special on HBO while my dog gives me the fisheye from the floor. I figured I would make my Saturday even more hardcore by writing a list.

5 Things I Am Loving Right Now:

1. Stand Up Comedy: Sometimes I go through phases where I just listen to standup all the time. In order to keep my sanity at work as of late I’ve taken to listening to standup endlessly. Here is my list (within a list!) or comedians I love right now.

2. Tegan and Sara’s new album: You guys. Get it now. Just go out and buy it. I can’t even highlight tracks that I love. It’s all just amazing. Buy it now.

3. These. – Bought these at DSW with Johnna over the summer. I love them. I think I might wear them with some skinny jeans to the fancy mall today just for the hell of wearing them.

4. Mozzarella, Basil and Tomato sandwiches with balsamic: They are seriously my favorite type of sandwich. They always taste fresh and never make you feel too full. It’s always that comfortable full that leaves you with just enough room for Starbucks.

5. Holiday Cups at Starbucks: I went yesterday with a friend and was just overjoyed to see red cups. Now, I’m a notorious winter hater (and I don’t care what you think) but I love Christmas. I love the family togetherness, sitting in front of a fireplace with tea, decorating the tree with my family, and going into New York and seeing all the department store windows. (Among many other things…) But I fucking hate being cold. I hate snow. I hate that I have to wait for my car to defrost. I hate that there’s less sun, and that I can’t wear sundresses and flip flops. Holiday cups at Starbucks make me happy because I think of Christmas and my family. 😀

Breakin It In…

So I decided that it was time I actually posted something in here. A list, I mean. This idea came from Shannon. I was complaining about not knowing what kinds of lists to put on here, so she suggested a list of things I cant make lists about.

1. Top 5 AFI songs

• AFI have been one of my favorite bands since Sophomore year of high school when I heard Girls Not Grey for the first time. I couldn’t even give you my top five off of ONE ALBUM let alone out of their entire discography. I will say that I love Jade’s voice on The Interview and ONE. BIG. DARK. ROOM. makes me laugh my ass off every time I heard it, but picking five top songs is impossible.

2. Top 5 Horror Movies.

• I hate any and all scary movies. My imagination is far to vivid to deal with watching that kind of shit. I, to put it bluntly, am a pussy.

3. Top 5 Favorite types of shoes.

• I love shoes. So much so that my own mother, who has a stack of shoes in her closet that’s as tall as I am, calls me Imelda Marcos.  I am, however, fucking picky about what goes on my feet. Espadrilles? Ugly. Wedges? Atrocious.  Kitten Heels? Stupid (I call them pussy heels. If you wear them and I’ve offended you, I don’t care.)  All I want is a pair of 4 inch (or higher) hidden platform peek toe pumps. I would say, my top three if I had to chose, would be Heels (like those pictured above), A pair of Chuck Taylors, and a pair of flip flops. No kitten heels, no espadrilles, and for the love of GOD and all that is holy no fucking wedge heels. One pair of each and I MAY be able to survive (I like to match my outfits and shoes accordingly. So even if I only had those styles of shoes, my collection would STILL be massive.)

4. Top 5 songs I would cover were I in a band.

• So, like any other red-blooded human, I would love to sing in a band front and center  (I think that also may have to do with being a Leo but that’s for another list.) However, I have a list as long as my person of songs I would love to cover. If I did a top five, I know I would come up with at least ten more after the post was published. So for the sake of my sanity and yours I will just tell you there are lots.

5. Top 5 Favorite Actors/Actresses.

• This one just came to me right now and uhh….I don’t know. I just don’t watch movies or tv enough to really love tons of actors. I really love David Tennant (from Doctor Who and…uhh…everything that is good about this earth) and Kristen Bell (hiiii girl!crush, hiiiii!) but I don’t know, I’m so entrenched in music and that part of pop culture that I really don’t attach to TV or Movies. I could maybe give you top five movies I watch over and over, but actors and actresses, nope.

This Is A Blog For Lists…

Okay, this is a blog for lists, among many other things.  I’ve been blogging on livejournal for about six years now, so I kind of feel like I’m cheating on my husband by having a wordpress, but I’m sure I’ll get over it since I’m sure my LJ friends are sick of me posting stupid videos and things.

This is now my blog for geeky list making, videos I enjoy, random pictures, concert reviews (possibly), Record reviews (another possibly), and…uh…other stuff.

Mainly it’s going to be lists. I enjoy those. Lots actually.

Also this blog is kind of…Marie Antoinette themed. Pink sheep, Versailles, the toile on the header. Don’t ask me why I love her so much. I just…do.
